Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s situation is not a sex scandal. he is accused of assault. this is not about cheating or about an affair. Sexual assault & rape are not scandals they are violent crimes.
(I know he hasn’t been convicted of anything. I am talking about what he is accused of. I don’t want to hear any rants about innocent until proving guilty. All I’m saying is he is not accused of cheating on his wife or being unfaithful. He is accused of attacking a woman while she was at work).

Stephanie’s tumblr handle is Bookavore, so for her picture we made it literal. The set and the skirt I built from her discarded piles of publishers’ proofs—no digital manipulation was involved. The “book blood” was squid ink, not particularly tasty in its pure form. Stephanie was a trooper!

Had this thought this morning. So far this thirty-something time-frame is freakin awesome! In the last year or so I can’t help but notice all my buddies are creating fantastic, impressive stuff — Books, Art, Businesses, Collectives, Babies. It’s like all that optimism, all that confidence we felt in college is manifesting itself into general amazingness. Guess we just needed to tunnel through those twenties first.
